Your BMI is reckoned from your height and weight

The Body Mass Index (BMI) expresses a person's weight in relation to their height; it doesn't measure body composition.

The value of measuring the BMI lies in having a single score that applies to both men and women, regardless of their age or frame size.

A BMI of 25 or more indicates that you are overweight. If it's over 30, you are considered obese, and if it's over 35 you are severely obese.

Please note: These values don't apply to athletes and body builders, pregnant and nursing mothers, frail or elderly persons, or children under 18. And the WHO has determined that the ideal BMI range for Asians is between 18.5 and 23, rather than 20 to 25.
